... Flash Flood Watch in effect from Friday morning through Friday
evening...

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of north central Washington...
including the following areas... east slopes northern
Cascades... Okanogan Valley and Wenatchee area.

* From Friday morning through Friday evening

* isolated to scattered thunderstorms producing pockets of heavier
rainfall could linger over recent and past burn scars from
wildfires.

* The highest threat area will be in and near the Methow Valley
with the Carlton complex fire... and downstream including all
creeks and streams. County roads could see washouts and Highway
20 could also be affected from Pateros to Methow... Twisp and
Winthrop. The Mills canyon burn and Chiwaukum complex will also
be susceptible to similar debris flows.

* Rapid debris flows and runoff could quickly block
roads... overwhelm small creeks and streams... and be a threat for
any persons or towns near burn scars.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding or debris flows. Flash flooding and debris
flows are very dangerous. Persons in the watch area should remain
alert to changing weather conditions... monitor NOAA Weather Radio
or other weather information sources. Be prepared to take action
on short notice if heavy rainfall occurs or if flash flood
warnings are issued.

... Fire Weather Watch in effect from Friday morning through
Friday evening for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty outflow
winds in fire weather zone 662...

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Fire Weather
Watch... which is in effect from Friday morning through Friday
evening.

* Affected area... fire weather zone 662. This includes Stehekin
and the portion of the North Cascades National Park complex east
of the Cascade crest.

* Thunderstorms... expect the risk of scattered thunderstorms to
begin around mid-day on Friday... continuing into the evening.

* Outflow winds: erratic outflow with gusts in excess of 30 mph
will be possible.

* Impacts... lightning may start new fires... and growth on existing
fires is possible under the influence of gusty outflow winds.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
red flag warnings.

Watch for thunderstorms... which is in effect from Friday morning
through Friday evening.

* Affected area: fire weather zone 673 East Washington northern
Columbia Basin (zone 673)... fire weather zone 677 East
Washington central Cascade valleys (zone 677)... fire weather
zone 682 East Washington central Cascade mountains (zone
682)... fire weather zone 684 East Washington Okanogan/Methow
valleys (zone 684) and fire weather zone 685 East Washington
north Cascades (zone 685).

* Thunderstorms: expect thunderstorms to develop midday and last
into the evening hours.

* Outflow winds: erratic outflow with gusts up to 30 mph will be
possible.

* Impacts: new fire starts from lightning as well as existing
fire growth from erratic and gusty thunder outflow winds.

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions

pangborn field today. This ties the old record of 103 set in 2003.

The low temperature at Wenatchee Airport in the past 24 hours was 73
degrees. This sets the record for the warmest low temperature for
this date. The previous record of 71 degrees was set in 1998.

A record high temperature of 104 degrees was tied at Omak Airport
today. The previous occurrence of 105 was in 2003.

The low temperature at Mullan Pass in the past 24 hours
was 67 degrees. This sets the record for the warmest low temperature
