... A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for southeastern
Washington... Madison... Crawford and eastern Carroll counties in
northwest Arkansas... and Sebastian and Franklin counties in west
central Arkansas... and Sequoyah and Muskogee counties in east central
Oklahoma... and northern Latimer... northeastern Pittsburg... eastern
McIntosh... northern Le Flore and Haskell counties in southeast
Oklahoma until 300 PM CDT...

At 245 PM CDT... severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Rudd to fern to Moffett to Tamaha to
Rentiesville... and moving south at 60 mph. There have been numerous
reports of wind gusts of 60 to 70 mph with this line of storms.

Hazard... 70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Source... trained weather spotters.

Impact... hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
         tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to Mobile homes...
         roofs and outbuildings.

CDT this evening...

A heat advisory is in effect...

For the following counties...

* in Oklahoma... Cherokee... creek... Okfuskee... Okmulgee...
   Wagoner... Rogers... Mayes... Pawnee... Washington... Osage...
   Nowata... Sequoyah... McIntosh... Muskogee and Haskell.

Hazardous weather...
* a ridge of high pressure aloft will remain entrenched over the
   region today... allowing high temperatures to climb
   into the mid to upper 90s this afternoon. Combining this heat
   with high humidity in place will yield dangerous heat indices
   in the 105 to 110 degree range this afternoon.

Impacts...
* the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will
   combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses
   are possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...
* take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
   possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
   evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
   stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
   possible and drink plenty of water.

* To reduce risk during
   outdoor work the occupational safety and health administration
   recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air
   conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be
   moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
   emergency... call 911.
