* at 910 PM CDT... numerous reports have been received of flooded
roadways across east central Oklahoma through far northwest
Arkansas. Light to moderate rain will cotinue through the evening
with an increase in heavy rainfall later tonight through much of
the day on Wednesday. Additional flash flood warnings may be
required to highlight areas of additional excessive rainfal.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Fayetteville... Springdale... Muskogee... Tahlequah... Okmulgee...
Stilwell... Okemah... Eufaula... Huntsville... Farmington...

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If flooding is observed act quickly. Move up to
higher ground to escape flood waters. Do not stay in areas subject to
flooding when water begins rising.

... Forecast flooding increased from minor to moderate severity...
the Flood Warning continues for
the Illinois River near Watts
* from late tonight to late Thursday night, or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 8:00 PM Tuesday, the stage was 6.69 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the Illinois River near Watts is expected to rise above
flood stage early Wednesday morning and continue to rise to near
21.5 feet by Thursday before dawn . The river is expected to fall
below flood stage Thursday evening.
* Impact... at 21.0 feet, severe flooding occurs from the Arkansas
border to Chewey bridge. Water will reach the base of the building
at River Valley raceway. Farmlands and permanent camgrounds are
inundated. Numerous Cabins in the Fidlers Bend area are flooded.

Mayes... north central Haskell... northeastern Muskogee... southern
Delaware... Cherokee... Sequoyah and Adair counties...

At 650 PM CDT... radar indicated areas of heavy rain cotninued across
the warned area.

Flash flooding resulting in flooded roadways has been reported near
Tahlequah eastward to near West Fork and around Bentonville.
Additional roadway flooding is likely to develop through 930 PM
across far eastern Oklahoma through northwest Arkansas.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of northwest Arkansas and Oklahoma... including the
following areas... in northwest Arkansas... Benton... Carroll...
Crawford... Madison and Washington AR. In Oklahoma... Adair...
Cherokee... Craig... creek... Delaware... Haskell... Mayes...
McIntosh... Muskogee... Nowata... Okfuskee... Okmulgee... Osage...
Ottawa... Pawnee... Pittsburg... Rogers... Sequoyah... Tulsa...
Wagoner and Washington OK.

* Through Wednesday evening

* a swath of 3 to 5 inches of rain is forecast along and on
either side of a line from near lake Eufaula northeastward
toward Bentonville and Rogers... with 2 to 4 inches expected to
fall as far north as a Pawnee to Bartlesville line. Some
isolated locations could receive as much as 10 inches of
rainfall by Wednesday evening. Dangerous flash flooding will
likely be the result.

If you are in the watch area... keep informed... and be ready for
quick action if flash flooding is observed or if a warning is
issued.
