... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Friday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Kansas and west central Missouri... including the
following areas... in Kansas... Johnson KS... Leavenworth... Linn
KS... Miami and Wyandotte. In west central Missouri... Bates...
Cass... Clay... Henry... Jackson... Johnson MO... Lafayette...
Platte and ray.

* Through Friday morning

* scattered thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage
overnight as they lift north through the region. Rainfall amounts
of 1 to 2 inches are possible with locally higher amounts possible...
especially where storms track repeatedly over the same areas.

* Excessive rainfall could lead to flash flooding of creeks...
streams low-... lying areas... and urban locations. Flooding may
occur in areas that are not typically flood prone.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
