... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT Friday for
Leavenworth... Wyandotte... Johnson... southeastern Doniphan... eastern
Atchison... Platte... Clinton... northwestern Lafayette... southern
Daviess... ray... southeastern Andrew... Jackson... Caldwell... southern
DeKalb... Buchanan and Clay counties...

At 1206 PM CDT... local law enforcement officials reported flooding
across the warned area. Flooding as been reported on Hwy dd along
Castle Creek near Frazier... on Highway E along dicks creek westof
Ridgely... and on Highway b north of Hoover. Additional Road flooding
has been reported in Smithville.

Some additional locations that will experience flooding include...
Kansas City... Overland Park... Olathe... Independence... Lee's
Summit... St. Joseph... Shawnee... Blue
Springs... Lenexa... Leavenworth...
Leawood... Raytown... Liberty... Gladstone... Grandview... Prairie
Village... Raymore... Gardner... Grain Valley and Lansing.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the
warned area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

the Missouri River at Napoleon.
* Until further notice.
* At 6:00 am Friday the stage was 21.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 26.1 feet by
early Sunday morning then begin falling.
* At 25.0 feet... rural areas unprotected by levees flood.
* At 24.5 feet... the Missouri-Pacific Railroad tracks are overtopped.
* At 17.0 feet... low-lying areas unprotected by levees begin to
flood.

the Missouri River at Sibley.
* From this evening to late Tuesday night.
* At 9:39 am Thursday the stage was 18.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tonight and continue to rise
to near 23.4 feet by Sunday morning. The river will fall below
flood stage by early Tuesday morning.
* At 22.0 feet... low-lying rural areas along the river and outside of
levee protection flood.

* From this afternoon to late Saturday night.
* At 5:30 am Friday the stage was 18.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by this afternoon and continue to
rise to near 20.8 feet by this evening. The river will fall below
flood stage by Saturday morning.
* At 20.0 feet... low-lying rural roads along with cropland and
Woodlands flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Fishing River near Mosby.
* Until Saturday afternoon.
* At 2:05 am Friday the stage was 24.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 25.5 feet by this
morning. The river will fall below flood stage this afternoon.
* At 25.0 feet... both Pony express Road north of the city and 3rd
street on the south side of Mosby are flooded. 6th street and east
Mosby Road are the only passable roads into or out of town.
* At 18.0 feet... fields near Mosby flood and a low-water crossing on
west Road is impassable.

* several rounds of thunderstorms are expected across eastern
Kansas and western Missouri through tomorrow morning. This
additional rainfall combined with the rain that has already
fallen this week could lead to flash flooding.

to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
