Flood Warning

The Flood Warning continues for
the Red River at Grand Ecore, Louisiana.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 1100 am Friday the stage was 36.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 33 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 40.5 feet by
June 8. Additional rises remain possible thereafter.
* Impact... at 41.0 feet... the Kansas City southern Railroad bed
flooded and closed. Several thousand acres of floodplain inundated.
Severe backwater flooding along Bayou Pierre with backup of water
into black, clear and Saline lakes will take place.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Red River at Coushatta, Louisiana.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 1100 am Friday the stage was 31.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 31 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 36.5 feet by
June 7. Additional rises remain possible thereafter.
* Impact... at 38.0 feet... major and near-record flooding occurs.
Several secondary roads flood and must be closed. Louisiana Highway
515 closed due to backwater flooding into Loggy Bayou.
Additionally, Lake Bistineau will rise above flood pool stage due
to backwater. Louisiana Highway 480 will be closed as well. Cattle
and equipment should be moved to higher ground well away from levee
systems. Expect extensive flooding in and near levee systems.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Bayou Dorcheat at Lake Bistineau.
* Until Wednesday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 1100 am Friday the pool stage was 142.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood pool stage is 142.5 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
early Wednesday morning.
* Impact... at 142.5 feet... expect some minor flooding of low area
camps, however, all access roadways will remain open.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Red River at Shreveport, Louisiana.
* From late Saturday night until further notice... or until the
warning is cancelled.
* At 800 am Friday the stage was 28.6 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 30 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Sunday morning and continue to
rise to near 34.0 feet by June 6. Additional rises remain
possible thereafter.
* Impact... at 34.0 feet... old Blanchard Highway just north of the
Cross Lake spillway is flooded and closed. Extensive backwater
flooding of Cross Bayou and Twelve Mile bayou begins. Also expect
flooding of Martin Luther King drive... and south fant Parkway.
High water will approach to near sci-port in downtown Shreveport and
flow over fant Parkway.

... Flooding very similar to that of may of 1990 to develop on the
Red River through the first ten days of June...

... Latest Red River stages and forecast crest information...

The 11 am Friday stage on the Red River near DeKalb Texas at Pecan
Point was 34.9 feet. The river will rise slightly again and crest
near 35.3 feet by late Sunday evening. Flood stage near DeKalb is 24
feet.

The noon Friday stage on the Red River at index Arkansas north of
Texarkana was 27.3 feet. The river will rise and crest near 31 feet
June 2. Flood stage at index is 25 feet.

The noon Friday stage on the Red River at Fulton Arkansas was 24.6
feet. The river will rise and crest near 33 feet by June 4. Flood
stage at Fulton is 27 feet.

The noon Friday stage on the Red River at Shreveport Louisiana was
28.8 feet. The river will rise and crest near 34 feet by June 6.
Flood stage at Shreveport is 30 feet.

The noon stage on the Red River at Coushatta Louisiana was 31.6
feet. The river is expected to rise and crest near 36.5 feet by June
7. Flood stage at Coushatta is 31 feet.

The noon Friday stage on the Red River at Grand Ecore Louisiana was
36.0 feet. The Red River will rise and crest near 40.5 feet by June
8. Flood stage at Grand Ecore is 33 feet.

Nearly all of the red river's tributaries in southern Oklahoma and
North Texas remain above flood stage. Soils in the Red River basin
remain saturated from this very wet Spring of 2015. Also Lake
Texoma on the Red River and tributary reservoirs to the Red River
remain at extremely high water as well from stored flood waters.

After the Red River crests... very high water stages will continue on
the Red River through at least the end of July due to very high
flood control Reservoir pool stages across much of the Red River
basin.

Pecan Point north of DeKalb Texas 34.4 feet during may 6 of 1990.

Index Arkansas north of Texarkana 32.3 feet during may 10 of 1990.

Fulton Arkansas 34.3 feet during may 12 of 1990.

Shreveport Louisiana 34.5 feet during may 15 of 1990.

Coushatta Louisiana 37.5 feet during may 17 of 1990.

Grand Ecore Louisiana 40.7 feet during may 18 of 1990.
