* From this evening through late Sunday night

* several rounds of thunderstorms with heavy rain are possible Friday
night through early Monday. Total rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches
are possible with locally higher amounts.

* Widespread excessive rainfall could lead to flash flooding of
creeks and streams... as well as other low-lying areas and
urban locations. This may include areas that are not typically
flood prone.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

            One third of a healthy Maple snapped and fell onto
            neighboring fence. Estimated diameter of section is 10 to
            12 inches. Small hail also noticed at time of event.

Characterized Kansas City Weather In June...


The average temperature at the Kansas City International Airport was
78.6 degrees, which was 5.1 degrees above normal. The average high
temperature was 89.7 degrees, or 6.2 degrees above normal. The
average low temperature was 67.4 degrees which was 3.8 degrees above
normal. The highest temperature for the month was 99 degrees on the
22nd. The lowest temperature was 55 degrees on the 7th. This June
was the 12th warmest June at Kansas City over the 128-year period of
record.

Precipitation came in at 0.98 inches for the month, or 4.25 inches
below normal. The greatest total in a 24 hour period was 0.36 inches
on the 28th. This June was the 3rd driest June at Kansas City over
the 128-year period of record.
