The Flood Warning continues for
the Arkansas River at Oxford.
* From this morning until Sunday afternoon.
* At 2:05 am Saturday the stage was 15.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by late this morning and continue
to rise to near 17.7 feet by this evening. The river will fall
below flood stage by early Sunday morning.
* Impact... at 18.0 feet... low lying agricultural fields flood north of
the river gage site.

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 1015 am CDT Saturday for
central Sumner County...

Excessive runoff from earlier heavy rainfall will continue to cause
local rises on area creeks... small streams... and low lying areas
in the warned area through the overnight hours.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Wellington... Belle Plaine... Caldwell... Oxford... South Haven...
Hunnewell... Riverdale... Wellington Airport and Perth.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... highways and underpasses in urban areas.
Additionally... country roads and farmlands along the banks of
creeks... streams and other low lying areas are subject to flooding.

northeastern Sumner counties...

areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
