* portions of central Georgia... east central Georgia... north
central Georgia... northeast Georgia... northwest Georgia and
west central Georgia... including the following areas... in
central Georgia... Baldwin... Bibb... Bleckley... Butts...
Crawford... crisp... Dooly... Houston... Jasper... Jones... Monroe...
   Peach... Pulaski... Putnam... Twiggs and Wilkinson. In east
central Georgia... Glascock... Greene... Hancock... Jefferson...
Taliaferro... Warren... Washington and Wilkes. In north central

* Through Wednesday afternoon

* abundant moisture combined with an upper level storm system will
lead to widespread showers and thunderstorms overnight early
this afternoon and again late tonight into Wednesday. Heavy rain
will be possible at times over the watch area including higher
rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour over central Georgia
later this morning. Portions of the watch area received 1 to 3
inches of rainfall on Saturday into Monday making soils less
permeable to additional rainfall. Additional rainfall amounts of
1 to close to 3 inches are possible in the watch area through
Wednesday afternoon.

* Flooding in low lying and flood prone areas will be likely,
especially in urban areas. In addition, creeks, streams and
rivers may overflow their banks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
