... Flood Warning extended until further notice... the Flood Warning
continues for
the Ouachita River at Thatcher l&d.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 11:45 am Friday the stage was 79.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 79.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 84.0 feet by
early Sunday morning. As much as 2 to 3 inches of rain have fallen
this morning in upstream areas... and addtional heavy rainfall
is expected over the next 24 hours. Please continue to monitor the
latest forecasts for any changes.
* Impacts at 85.0 feet... there may be some County roads along the
river flooded, requiring lengthy detours. River is high and swift,
boaters should be very cautious. Access to many oil and gas rigs
will be by boat only. Levee gates should be closed.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from 10 am CDT this
morning through Saturday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Arkansas... southeast Arkansas... southwest
Arkansas and western Arkansas... including the following
areas... in central Arkansas... Garland and Grant. In southeast
Arkansas... Bradley... Cleveland and Jefferson. In southwest
Arkansas... Calhoun... Clark... Dallas... Hot Spring... Ouachita
and Pike. In western Arkansas... Montgomery... Polk and Scott.

* From 10 am CDT this morning through Saturday morning

* two to three inches of rain will be possible across much of the
watch area through tonight... with locally more than three
inches. The watch includes are south of Waldron... Hot Springs...
and Pine Bluff.

* Southern sections of the state have received well above normal
precipitation the last couple of months... and the soil cannot
hold as much water as usual. This will increase the runoff
potential... and will make flash flooding more likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. You should monitor later forecasts and be
prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
