The Flood Warning continues for
the Arkansas River at Dardanelle.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 4:00 am Saturday the stage was 35.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall today, but begin
rising this evening. A second crest of 38.3 feet is forecast on
Tuesday, June 2nd. Flows are well over 300,000 cfs and will remain
high through the middle of next week. Please monitor the latest
forecasts for any updates.
* Impacts at 36.0 feet... moderate flood conditions expected with
numerous roads and highways affected, backwater up Petit Jean river
floods State Highway 154. Carden Bottoms and Holla Bend National
Wildlife Refuge flooded.
* This flood crest will be over a foot higher than the flood crest of 37.0
feet which occurred a few weeks ago on may 12th, and with be the highest
since October of 1986.

southeast Arkansas... southwest Arkansas and western Arkansas...
   including the following areas... in central Arkansas...
Conway... Faulkner... Garland... Grant... Lonoke... Perry... Pope...
Pulaski... Saline... white and Yell. In north central
Arkansas... Baxter... Boone... Cleburne... Fulton...
Independence... Izard... Marion... Newton... Searcy... sharp...
stone and Van Buren. In southeast Arkansas... Cleveland and
Jefferson. In southwest Arkansas... Calhoun... Clark... Dallas...
Hot Spring... Ouachita and Pike. In western Arkansas...
Johnson... Logan... Montgomery... Polk and Scott.

* Through this evening

* rainfall will continue over the region today as a cold front
approaches. While rainfall amounts will be less than previous
days... any rainfall has the potential to bring flash flooding
due to the already saturated ground.

* In addition... area rivers and streams are already flooding or
near bank full. Any additional rainfall will not be able to
drain into waterways... increasing the threat for flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

yesterday. This breaks the old record of 1.11 set in 2014.

a record rainfall of 1.07 inches was set at Jacksonville/Little
Rock AFB yesterday. This breaks the old record of 0.77 set in 1975.
